All communities have their own interpretation and form of following principles that allow the members to collectively exist in peace.
While each community has a slightly unique take on what morals, values, or principles to follow; We all unite within a similar ideology of making the world a better one.
First Set Of Guiding Principles (PLUR)
You likely are already familiar with the inspiration of these. For those who haven’t, inspired by some of the most rooted values within the EDM communities, PLUR or Peace Love Unity Respect are the first layer of principles to create a safe and welcoming community.
Sometimes a second R is there to indicate Responsibility.
The reason I don’t include it is because respect encompasses responsibility. Those who are not being responsible, specially in a public community space, are immediately being disrespectful to themselves (by not displaying personal love) and to those around them (by potentially souring the experience of bystanders.
